just a quick story about how i love america.

once upon a time [a.k.a. last month] i got a summons for jury duty in the mail. i guess hatred of jury duty is a widespread emotion, but i didn't feel that way.

confession: i have secretly always wanted jury duty.
i know, i know. it's supposedly really dull and half the time you aren't even selected, and even when you are it's usually a boring case. yes, i've heard all the complaints, but i still have always wanted to have jury duty.

maybe it's just that i'm really patriotic. maybe it runs in the family.
i mean, liz loves america too. just look at this glorious photograph.
liz, don't hate me for posting this hahahahaha

or, probably more likely, i've just watched way too many legal thrillers/courtroom dramas. either way, i'm not gonna lie—i'm actually excited. i just find the legal system so interesting and i've always kind of wanted to be a part of it. people told me i should try to get out of it, but i'm happy to go. plus, one time i won a scholarship for an essay i wrote about the importance of civic responsibility, so i should probably practice what i preach...

so, yeah, JURY DUTY. it's what elle woods would do.
i wish i could steal her first-day-of-law-school outfit to wear to court. she's kind of my hero. that's all.
